What are the statutory requirements for a Hong Kong company?According to the Company Ordinance, there are other statutory requirements to meet after your company has been successfully incorporated:
- Display of Company Name at your registered address (BBC's e-directory can fulfill this requirement)
- Updating and maintaining the Significant Controllers Register (SCR) at your registered address
- Updating and maintaining the Register of Members, Register of Directors & Register of Company Secretary
- Making Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) contributions if there are staff being employed in HK

What are the annual maintenance requirements for a Hong Kong company?
- File an Annual Return (NAR1) to the Companies Registry.
- Renew the Business Registration (BR) Certificate annually. Government fee HKD250—2,450, depending on government policy. The Hong Kong government will announce it in the Budget Plan each year.
- Submission of Profits Tax Return (PTR) along with audited financial statements (Even if you have not commenced your business).
- Filing of Employer / Employee’s Return of Remuneration (ER) and Pensions (No matter with or without employee) (Regardless of whether your company has employee or not).
- If you do not have a physical office in Hong Kong. Renew your Virtual Office services and its related services, including the e-directory service. (Virtual Office services and its related services renewal, including e-directory service)
- Renew your Company Secretary Service

Can BBC help with Business Registration Certificate renawal and Annual Return submission?Yes, if you use BBC's service plans G1–3, the company secretary service already includes the timely submission of the Annual Return (AR) for the same year and the associated fees.
The renewal of the Business Registration (BR) Certificate is only available to customers using service plans G2–3. After renewing the service plan and making payment, the service includes handling the renewal of the Business Registration Certificate, but government fees are not included. -
What is the Business Registration (BR) Certificate renewal fee? It is not the same every year?The Business Registration (BR) Certificate renewal fee is not the same every year as it is subject to changes announced in the Hong Kong government’s annual Budget by the Financial Secretary. The fee may be adjusted based on the government’s policies, including any waivers or concessions introduced in the Budget.
